April Fools!

We had a fun day today! One of our Kindergarten classes in the building decided to dress crazy to fool us, since it is April 1st. We liked watching them walk by in their silly outfits! For our own April Fool's Day fun, we practiced playing harmless jokes on each other during communication group. Then this afternoon we made a Red Hot Joke Book with Mrs. Debaillie (our speech teacher) during special activity. Look for our joke books in our backpacks, because we would love to share them with you!

March Madness

During the month of March, we had a little madness of our own. Our month was jam-packed with activities. At the beginning of the month we focused on Dr. Seuss, making green eggs and ham on his birthday. We also made up our own version of the book Green Eggs and Ham with our principal Dr. Brown, as she came and joined us for this activity. We continued our "green theme" as we tried a variety of green food and chose a picture of whether we liked it. Believe it or not...it was a class consensus that we all liked fresh spinach much better than pickles and for some reason the green M & M was everyone's favorite! We also hid leprechauns around our room and took turns looking for them, communicating to each other whether we were "hot or cold".

Throughout the month we worked on the ILS of identifying character emotions in stories. We've read a variety of genres together and independently and discussed through words and pictures how we thought the characters felt. Some of us have gotten really good at this skill!
